The UNIside portal provides information, among others, on issues such as where it is easier or harder to get into, which fields of study, faculties and academic programmes are the most popular. The portal’s recent UNI In&Out rankings publication uses a methodology developed by higher education experts to produce the latest university excellence rankings, which can help applicants to make more informed decisions by 15 February.
In compiling the ranking, great attention has been paid to the following aspects:
- the excellence of the students admitted (i.e. the average score of the students admitted without extra points, the percentage of students who have received in excellent grade in at least one subject in their advanced level secondary school final examination, the percentage of students who have achieved a pass in an academic or sports competition)
- teaching/research performance (i.e. the proportion of teachers, researchers and lecturers with academic degrees, the proportion of teachers and lecturers/students, international research productivity (number of papers and conference publications indexed in Web of Science papers and published in the last 5 years compared to the number of teachers, researchers and lecturers), impact of international research (expresses the average citation rate of papers compared to the average for the discipline)
- the international environment (proportion of foreign students, proportion of students in part-time programmes abroad compared to the average for the field of study)
- information indicators such as number of admissions, number of applicants with BME as their first choice, average gross income of graduates (based on 2019 GCTS survey)
