The two-year MSc program in Mathematics provides a profound knowledge of mathematics, competitive both in academic and non-academic sectors due to the graduates' analytical thinking, creativity and problem solving skills. Possible specializations are Algebra, Analysis, Discreet Mathematics, Geometry, Operations Research and Stochastics. Courses are taught by internationally recognized scientists of the university. Students of our MSc program may enter high-level research projects of the university or carry out research at cooperating companies. Foundational courses are provided to those who need them.
For our BSc programs general minimum requirements are an eligible highschool degree; document of English language proficiency and successful admission tests, while for our MSc programs an eligible BSc degree is needed. Detailed information on the general admission procedure (deadlines and requirements) can be found on our E-admission page.
The admission procedure consists of an online test and a personal interview, which may also be conducted online. The interview focuses on the candidate’s mathematical background, interests and motivation. In particular, general mathematical foundations of the candidate, especially the knowledge of calculus and linear algebra, as well as workmanship in probability and statistics are assessed. Candidates also get credits for those BSc courses completed which are relevant for the program.
You can study at BME with a scholarship or as a self-funded student, by paying tuition fees. Various scholarships help you cover tuition fees and your living expenses during your studies. Successful PhD students may receive additional support from research grants.
Mathematics MSc students receive a firm theoretical background in Mathematics and can specialize in Algebra, Analysis, Discreet Mathematics, Geometry, Operations Research or Stochastics. They have the opportunity take part in high-level scientific research or research projects in industry.
Subjects from BSc in Mathematics have to be taken if needed prescribed by the intructor of the student.
Courses in Algebra, Analysis, Discreet Mathematics, Geometry, Operations Research or Stochastics must be taken from at least 4 different fields, 10 credits must be taken from the main field of the student.
Courses in Algebra, Analysis, Discreet Mathematics, Geometry, Operations Research or Stochastics must be taken from 3 different fields, 10 credits of each.
