BME’s two-term Pre-engineering Programme provides you with the skills and knowledge you need to pursue your studies at BME’s English-language bachelor's programmes or single-cycle programme (OTM). The general objectives of the Pre-engineering Programme include the strengthening of your basic knowledge in mathematics and physics; improving your English language competences; development of certain professional skills necessary for the chosen bachelor’s or single-cycle programme (OTM); intercultural integration activities to support your integration.
Minimum requirements are high school diploma and the document of English language proficiency. There is no entrance exam
You can study at BME with a scholarship or as a self-funded student, by paying tuition fees. Various scholarships help you cover tuition fees and your living expenses during your studies. Successful PhD students may receive additional support from research grants.
English, Mathematics and Physics are compulsory subjects for all students in both semesters. In addition, we offer specialized subjects and courses developing specific competences necessary for your chosen bachelor's or single-cycle programme. Students also get an insight into the university's training and study system, get familiar with its infrastructure, and get into the rhythm of student life in Budapest.
The pre-engineering programme prepares students for BME's bachelor and single-cycle programmes. Students who successfully complete the programme will automatically be admitted to certain BME courses in English. Employment is directly possible after the BSc degree, or studies can be continued on one of our engineering MSc programs or Physics or Applied Mathematics MSc programs. After obtaining an MSc, our most dedicated students can enroll in our PhD school to become highly qualified researchers or even pursue an academic career.
