Structural Engineer MSc

Faculty of Civil Engineering (ÉMK)

The Faculty offers an MSc programme in Structural Engineering with a duration of 1.5 years. The MSc programme has three specializations: Specialization in Numerical Modelling, Specialization in Structures, and Specialization in Geotechnics and Geology. Specialization in Numerical Modelling provides advanced knowledge of structural analysis using contemporary computer techniques, including the theoretical background of the methods. Specialization in Structures provides thorough knowledge in structural design, skills enabling to carry out independent project coordination and to execute special design, construction and development procedures.

Qualification MSc in Structural engineering

Language English

Start September and February

Pre-evaluation of the submitted documents: quality of BSc diploma, BSc transcript, obtained credits in the field of structural engineering, additional evaluated aspects: quality of motivation letter, extra-curricular activities (e.g. involvement in education, research, publication activities, technical contests, additional language skills, etc.) if required: electronic written admission test and/or electronic interview.

You can study at BME with a scholarship or as a self-funded student, by paying tuition fees. Various scholarships help you cover tuition fees and your living expenses during your studies. Successful PhD students may receive additional support from research grants.

Career options

Graduated students have gained knowledge to plan, construct, maintain, operate, solve business and professional authority tasks in the field of the civil engineering profession, especially in structural engineering tasks. They can apply the analytical and numerical procedures of static and dynamic analysis of structures, the procedures, models, and information technology tools used in the design, construction and operation of supporting structures and are able to develop them. They are able to recognize and understand problems arising in the field of structural construction, formulate expert opinions, and develop solution strategies. They are able to coordinate and manage construction, maintenance, operation, business and professional authority tasks in the field of structural engineering.
